Summer Glau was an American actress who is well-known for her character River Tam in Firefly, an award-winning television show. She also played Cameron as Cameron in Terminator. Sarah Connor Chronicles. Selena Quintanilla......................Selena was born April 16 1971 in Corpus Christi Texas . Marcela Quintanilla's daughter and Selena's birth date was April 16, 1971 in Corpus Christi, Texas. When Selena was eight she began her career as a member of a band that was formed by her father. The band was composed of Selena as well as her siblings Abraham junior who played base guitar, and sister Suzette playing drums and Selena sang in the band. The group was named Selena Y Los Dino and they would play with her siblings at numerous wedding and bar fairs and other events. Selena along with her sisters as well as their parents were extremely busy with the band. They did not have an early childhood. But Abraham helped them become determined musicians because of his passion. Abraham Senior was part of the first band Los Dinos. Selena Y Los Dinos officially started in the year 1981. The band was the family business and the main source of income for the family. Even though there were times of struggle in the beginning, with a lack of cash, the Quintanilla family was determined and continued in their quest to create a successful band. They would see their patience pay back in the mid 1980's as Selena Y Los Dinos gained notoriety in the western states. Selena's first success came in 1986 when she won awards as Female Vocalist of the Year and as a Performer of The Year at the Tejano music Awards. From that moment on Selena Y Los Dinos were among the top winners year after year and gained fame and recognition.
